About Me

I am a twenty-something (okay, okay... I'm 25) living in Lubbock, TX.

A few random facts about me:

I am convinced Lubbock is one of the most hideous places in the world to live. That being said, living in a place so unattractive makes you search even harder for the beauty; it makes you creative and adventurous. This city has its quirks, but most importantly it is home to my intermediate family and some of my best friends and our wonderful memories. You can't hate a place like that.

I was born in Arkansas, raised in Lubbock, went to college in Dallas (go Patriots!) and returned to
Lubbock. I have no plans to make the LBK my forever home. (Yes, we call it the LBK or the 806.)

I have a bachelor's degree in Communications with an emphasis in Print/Graphics (Photography & Graphic Design.)
My two sisters, my mother, and I.
Summer 2012

I am the youngest of four children (two sisters, one brother.) I have three nephews and two nieces.

I LOVE playing sports. I am not GREAT at any sport, but a friendly game of whatever is just fine with me. My favorite sports to play: soccer, tennis, basketball.

I (obviously) have a huge desire to be healthy. Being healthy to me doesn't just mean losing weight.

I like the practice of naturopathy and eating all-natural foods.

Coffee Coffee Coffee.
No matter how healthy I get, I don't think I will ever be able to resist BUBBLEGUM ice cream. It has been my favorite since I was a tiny tike.

My dream job is set designer.

I love coffee and the coffee shop type drinks. I was a barista twice in my life.

My dog Griffin is my best friend. He is a shih-tzu/poodle mix.

My favorite city is New York City or Nashville.

I'm a Christian. I was raised Baptist and in the Bible belt, but I lean towards the reformation movement and Calvinism. I am a theological nerd.

Uriah. <3
My favorite band is Mumford & Sons. Song: Lover of the Light.

I have the most handsome boyfriend in the world. He is going to school to be a master scuba diver/ deep sea diver / I don't know the real title, but it's dangerous. I'm very proud of him. :]

My mom has diabetes. Being a geriatric nurse for a long time, she knows the long term effects of that if it's not handled with care, and she has treated it like a BOSS. She is by far my biggest role model in life, but the way she has conquered her diabetes (with a 90+ lb weight loss and off of insulin) is a huge inspiration.

I LOVE rollercoasters and theme parks. I have a huge obsession with anything circus/carnival/theme park related. This is one of the biggest weight loss incentives!

I am a total girly girl. Not in the hot pink glittery sense, but in the sense of a 50s wifey with some spunk. Did that make sense? Probably not. I love feathers and bows and cleanliness and dresses and feeling like a lady. I also believe in traditional wife/husband roles -- but in a very empowering, logical sense.

I'm a smart cookie... but I lack a lot of common sense desire to
